“When my business partner and I launched our consulting practice, we needed a little help identifying our vision and mission and discovering our values. Josh guided us through a series of exercises to help us narrow our focus. Now, we consider our vision and mission in every decision we make, and our values remind us of who we are as we grow our company.”

— Jodi Rhone, co-founder, Canary Consulting Group

Discerning your mission, vision, and values is fundamental to understanding and fulfilling your purpose.

Core Values

Core Values are the foundational pillars of any congregation and organization. They identify its DNA while also serving as the compass in guiding ministry endeavors. Core Values are not determined; they are a gift from God, discovered through prayer and discernment. They are the non-negotiable factors that are the life, and give life, to the organization’s ministry efforts.

Mission

A mission statement articulates the ‘why’ an organization exists.  It defines the all-encompassing future an organization is working toward. Mission statements paint an image of what could be – what will be – when purpose is accomplished.

Vision

A vision statement summarizes God’s unique and specific purpose for your congregation or organization. It is a glimpse into God’s preferred future, the ‘rallying cry,’ and the uniting objective toward which all efforts work. Vision captures the distinctive ministry initiative and the vision statement itself is a short, memorable statement that allows easy retention for all.
